I had a ruptured achilles but due to the way it ruptured I ended up having to do a FHL transfer to support it as well which causes more non weight bearing time. As I get more mobile, I keep reminding myself to take care and slow down if I start rushing. LOL If my exterior stitches healed that fast..Theres a good chance my interior stitches held up ok. After all, more than 60% was un torn, so only 40% was repaired. I feel encouraged. Update. It may also occur if patients dont follow the postoperative directions carefully. over the past several days ive felt my foot healing as far as pain goes, the pain wednesday morning had subsided and i didnt feel the need to use my pain meds any morehowever about 2 hours ago i lost balance on my crutches and i completely stepped on my right foot (with boot) with all my weight about 2 times rather quickly before my bf caught me luckily he was near by. Today marks a week and 2 days since my surgery (full rupture). They will get you answer one way or another! and he waited on me hand and foot, escorted me on every bathroom visit (finally I told him "some things really do need to stay private in a relationship" so he started waiting outside the door. My surgeon wasnt very concerned about the slip- I texted him right after it happened. Just a pop towards the bottom of my ankle/incision. !Also nice to know im not traveling through this shit storm alone. Mine is still pretty stiff(can only move the joint 30 maybe 40% of the way back) but should clear up with enough therapudic methoods every day such as moving it geny on the groud out of the boot & bending it back & forth with an elastic band at least 10 minutes a day.
