Charles I. Smith passed away on April 4, 2021 in Viera, Florida at 99 years old.  Charles was born December 11, 1921 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to Eva Stoner and Charles W. Smith. 

 

Charles is survived by his 3 children Lynda Garneau, Jeffery Smith, and Susan Smith.  He is predeceased by his son Ronald J. Smith.  He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren Tammy Wiech, Michelle Berry, and Starnica Smith, and 6 great grandchildren.  

 

He was predeceased by his wife Jean Smith.   He is also survived by his 4 stepchildren Lisa & Husband Frank Barrows, Peter Violante, Patrice Todd and husband Danny Todd, and Kathy & husband Richard Gregory and their children and grandchildren.

“Chuck” or “Smitty”, as he was known by his friends, was always actively engaged, as one could find him enjoying golfing, skiing, tennis, ballroom dancing, and fishing and boating throughout the years.  He also spent time traveling with his family every year to Hawaii and Grand Cayman.

 

Known for his quick wit, Chuck’s family and friends never knew when they might be the recipients of one of his spontaneous jovial quips.  He was very detail oriented and was never at a loss for the next checklist. 

 

Charles left a strong and lasting legacy and the family will forever be imprinted by the impact he had on all.
